In the article results of comparative anthropometric inspection of 297 corpses of men of the first and second period of mature age (22–60 years) are submitted. According to the classification, V. N. Shevkunenko, with vertical strangulation significantly more common mesomorph body type, while the classification V.M. Chernorutskii, with vertical strangulation were more often detected normostenic body type, taking into account the classification of D. Tanner, a vertical strangulation significantly more common ginekomorf body type and classification Rees-Eysenck, with vertical strangulation significantly more common normostenic body type. Features of frequency of occurrence of types of a constitution at corpses of the hung up men are revealed, depending on a position of a body at the moment of death. All study the corpses of men were divided into three groups, depending on the position of the body at the time of the hanging: vertical, sitting, horizontal. According to the study it was found that most men are hung vertically in position, a few at least - in a sitting position, and rarely - in the horizontal position.
