THE USE OF LOCAL MEDIA FOR ANTIBACTERIAL TREATMENT CHRONIC SUPPURATIVE OSTEOMYELITIS OF LONG TUBULAR BONES

The study was performed on the basis of clinical findings in 60 patients with different etiological forms of chronic osteomyelitis of long bones. The study group consisted of surgical treatment of osteomyelitis in the savings resection hearth and installing a local antibacterial extended media based on polymethyl methacrylate resulting resection cavity in the comparison group - a radical resection of the affected bone area and the surrounding soft tissue structures. The study analyzed the antimicrobial efficacy of implants by microbiological analysis of wound, observing the changes of hematological parameters, as well as analysis of data on the presence of disease recurrence in the group with the assessment of long-term functional outcomes. When using a local antibiotic carrier in the complex surgical treatment of osteomyelitis is celebrated more intense suppression of bone infection in the wound, which is confirmed by the dynamics of clinical, haematological and bacteriological parameters.
