Using infrared (IR) spectroscopy the authors performed dry blood serum tests of persons with vibration disease (VD), workers exposed to hand-arm vibration (but without VD symptoms), and healthy persons not exposed to vibration. Based on caculated IR parameters the authors plotted two-dimensional profiles of examined groups - IR-images. The graphic pictures allowed to evaluate visually the diturbances of metabolic process during development of VD. It was revealed that changes of IR-characteristics were observed at a prenosological stage of vibration pathology development. With the use of IR-images the authors found that a biochemical background of blood serum in patients with VD differed from the background in healthy persons and workers exposed to hand-arm vibration (but without VD symptoms). Three groups of patients were classified, every group had own IR-image. It was determined that the greatest deviations of IR- spectroscopic characteristics were seen among persons with long length of service in occupation with risk of exposure to vibration and short period of absence of contact with vibration sources. The authors shown that with the use of IR-images one could reveal risk groups among persons exposed to vibration and evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation procedures.
