RESULTS OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF PREVALENCE OF HYPERTENSION IN SMOLENSK RESIDENTS

The article discusses the results of epidemiological studies the prevalence of arterial hypertension (AH), risk factors, organ damage - targets associated clinical conditions, as well as the application and effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy (AHT) in patients Smolensk. The aim of the study was to examine the prevalence of hypertension for further planning, development and implementation of primary and secondary prevention of hypertension. The study took place in the framework of the Federal target program “Prevention and treatment of hypertension in the Russian Federation.” For the first screening stage examined 1062 patient (2004), for the second screening stage - 946 patient (2008). Formation samples held by the standard procedure, approved by the order № 440 (16.09.2003). Examination of patients filled a standard questionnaire (140 -1U). The study was an increase in awareness of hypertensive patients of a disease, the effectiveness of therapy. Revealed a slight decrease in hypercholesterolemia and alcohol consumption, increase of overweight and smoking. Recorded an increase in the prevalence of cerebrovascular disease and diabetes . Noted the increasing use of modern antihypertensive therapy. Substantiates the importance of epidemiological studies to identify patients at high risk of cardiovascular complications.
