SIDE EFFECTS OF CHEMOTHERAPY AT FRAILTY PATIENTS

The analysis of the complications of chemotherapy at elderly patients with a frailty was carrying out. Toxic effect of chemotherapy action on gastrointestinal tract, hematopoietic, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary and nervous systems was research in detail. It has been shown the criteria on which treatment policy are based. Also authors proved the close interrelation between frailty syndromes and course of complications of chemotherapy. Thus, choosing the most effective tactic of treatment at elderly oncology patients has to consist of methods of prophylaxis of chemotherapy side effects and complications, and correction of its regimen. The adequate assessment of functional reserves of an human body promotes elaboration of optimal tactics of treatment taking into account specific features of the geriatric patient – carrying out specialized geriatric survey, identification of geriatric syndromes and extent of their possible influence on risk of emergence of complications of a chemotherapy for the purpose of their well-timed prevention.
