Objective: It was interesting to estimate pregnancy complications and birth outcomes, depending on the maternal levels of several angiogenic factors and cytokines and its connection to the fetal gender. We had examined 390 women with an uncomplicated pregnancy, of which 203 women with male fetuses, 187 with female fetuses and 345 women with placental insufficiency and fetal growth retardation, of which 176 women with male fetuses and 169 pregnant women - with a female fetus. It was found that a slight change in the activity of angiogenic factors and cytokines in mothers of boys had greater clinical manifestations of obstetric complications than mothers of girls. High activity of angiogenic factors and cytokine system in women with girl fetal gender, as in physiological and complicated pregnancy, indicating a higher adaptability of the «mother-placenta-fetus» system in the formation of placental dysfunction, as evidenced by more favorable rates of pregnancy and childbirth.
