EPIDEMIOLOGICAL, MEDICAL, SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF CO-INFECTION HIV/TB IN VOLGOGRAD REGION ON MATERIALS OF SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Sociological research is conducted in a cohort of patients with HIV/TB co-infection in the Volgograd region. Epidemiological, medical, social, psychological factors and co-factors were studied, which in combination influence on the development of dual disease. The most important factor is intense epidemiological situation on tuberculosis in Russian Federation and in Volgograd region, which is characterized by high distribution of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MT) infection in general population. Immunodeficiency creates pathogenetic prerequisites for the development of active tuberculosis. Along with biological factors such as MT and HIV co-factors such as the use of drugs (76%), alcohol abuse (32% of respondents) play specific role in progression of immunodeficiency. It was also found socio-environmental, socio-economic and psychological disadaptive risk factors of co-infection HIV/TB.
