CONSUMPTION OF INJECTING DRUGS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN 2005 - 2013

The consumption of drugs, usually administered by injection, is a medical and social problem in the society. Among the most significant problems caused by drug use by injection, is the risk of HIV infection and parenteral hepatitis, as well as the high mortality rate epidemiological situation for a nine-year interval showed a decrease in the number of registered injecting drug users in the country by 7.6%, while the number of Federal districts saw an increase. The maximum decrease occurred in the Central, the growth of Siberian Federal districts. The similar situation can be caused by an adverse epidemiological situation in regions and demands strengthening of medico-organizational actions.
