VARIANTS OF APPLICATION OF ELASTOPOSITSIONERS IN PATIENTS WITH DENTOALVEOLAR ANOMALIES

The analysis of the application of elastopositioners in patients with dentoalveolar anomalies was carried out. Adolescents and adults treated with the combined method - the use of elastopositioners and bracket system were examined. Elastopositioners were administered in cases of functional disorders (infantile swallowing, mouth breathing, lip seal and chewing impairments, signs of TMJD dysfunction) and in complex clinical situations (severe forms of dentoalveolar anomalies, primary edentia of lateral incisors, secondary deformation of dentition, pathological abrasion, preparation for prosthetics). In adolescents therapy took a shorter time, often able to achieve aesthetic, morphological and functional optimum. Adult patients had a greater motivation to wear elastopositsioners due to the need to eliminate the uncomfortable sensations in the masticatory muscles and TMJD and for prosthetics. There was drawn a conclusion about the importance of the application of elastopositioners in patients with dentoalveolar anomalies for the improvement of the functioning and in complex clinical situations.
