Authors made the review of domestic and foreign literature for long period of time on ultrasound diagnosis in emergency surgery and urology. Special attention is paid to one of the most common causes of acute abdomen - acute appendicitis and obstructive uropathy. The authors examined current approaches in ultrasound diagnosis of acute appendicitis and ureterolithiasis. Advantages and disadvantages of ultrasonic diagnosis in these pathologies were evaluated. Experience of domestic and foreign doctors was given. The authors found differences in diagnostic approaches, contradictions, lack of accurate diagnostic tool universal non-invasive techniques. Factors influencing the informative tool (ultrasound) study were discussed. The authors concluded that the possibility of modifying ultrasound diagnosis using modern scanners, improving methodological approaches for the differential diagnosis of emergency conditions.
