SEX AND AGE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DENTAL PATIENTS WITH DRUG DEPENDANCY

The analysis of the establishment of basic age-related characteristics of drug dependent patients, who applied for dental care in the Moscow scientific and practical Center of narcology in comparison in equal proportion with the control group of dental patients was made. In our study the criterion for inclusion in the control group patients were: age from 15 to 39 years of age, the absence of chronic somatic pathology, not using drugs, the ratio of men and women of the control group, respectively (59,0 % and 41.0 %) was almost equal to the ratio in this group of patients with drug dependence (64,0 % men and 36,0 % of women). The results of the analysis show that the major part of the control group of patients seeking dental care, was accounted for by the age of from 18 till 29 years old, 25,0% of them were male, the average age of the patients was 21,7+ 2.2 years. Age of drug dependent patients varied from 15 to 39 years, with an average of 20.8 per+ 2.4 years, which is somewhat younger than in the control group of dental patients. The obtained results of the research testify to the extremely important social significance of the problem of drug-abuse. Being felt its impact on production and the demographic situation, as well as damage to the family budget and the state as a whole in terms of reduction of their disability and the need for repeated costly medical care. The results of the analysis of patients with drug dependence on age characteristics showed that the addiction to drugs has received the maximum spread among the population of fertile active age groups, both male and female. In this regard it is relevant is the study of the age category of patients dental profile in order to develop measures to reduce the spread of infections and prevention of drug dependency.
