This article studies the occurrence of basic geriatric syndromes (the fallings, cognitive disorders, the dependence in everyday life) among the patients with a pathology of the vision, singles out the accompanying psychological peculiarities. We have found out that the elderly with pathology of the vision form a specific group of patients who feel medical and social after-effects of pathology of the vision not only because of their ophthalmological disease, but also due to the age factor, and a high risk of such geriatric syndromes as fallings and cognitive disorders. All these actualize in the decrease of the visual function and the level of independence in everyday life.
