70 female patients were examined in the age of 60 to 80 years (the middle age 67,04 ± 0,9) with ischemic heart disease, assosiated with diffuse toxic goiter. Ischemic heart disease, angina II-III functional class and thyrotoxicosis II-III extent. ECG monitoring with the assessment of ischemic changes and physical performance, echocardiography, ultrasound examination of thyroid gland hormones (T3, T4, free T4, TSH) and antibodies to thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroid peroxidase (TPO) were used as methods for this investigation. Experiment was held twice: in the beginning and 6 months later after treatment. Experiment showed that the degree of reversibility of myocardial damage after treatment in patients with coronary heart disease associated with Graves’ disease, depends on the presence or absence of atrial fibrillation. After removal of thyrotoxicosis in patients with sinus rhythm at the positive dynamics of ischemic changes in the myocardium, improved myocardial contractile function, perfusion of the heart cavities, and also decreased the size of the left atrium. In patients with atrial fibrillation was noted only a decrease in the number of ischemic episodes per day, with an increasing number of patients with reduced ejection fraction. Also, the number of patients with increased end-diastolic left ventricular size and the size of the right ventricle, exceeding normal levels.
